So Long, Hobbit-land; Hello, New England!

After a long (very, very long) journey, I made it back safely from the North and South Islands of New Zealand!

Man, what a trip! What scenery! What sights! We are back on the horse and OPEN for these few days before Christmas – namely 12/21, 12/22, and 12/23 from 11AM to 6PM.

Yes, when we weren’t on multi-day, tens-of-kilometer treks, we had a chance to see the major cities like Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch, the smaller cities like Queenstown and Invercargill, and lots of towns along the way, like Foxton, Huntley, Tekapo, and Te Anau.

The yarn was exquisite: merino, possum (but not really possum), cotton, and more. But the fabric! If you’ve never felt, seen, or sewn with fine-gauge merino, it’s like nothing else in the world….

Stay tuned for a post about my fabric haul and what I plan to do with it. In the meantime, happy holiday sewing!!
